Nursing School

Ok, so I have way too much time right now and I am not getting anything done! It is really terrible. I would rather sit infront of the TV watching something stupid and have a cup of tea than study. This is very bad since I am finally where I want to be. I am taking nursing classes and I need to study to make it through.
Well, I will just have to crack the whip and try a little harder.
Another thing. I just got on the scale and I am at a all time high. I am going to share this with you since I have to do something about it. I am embarrest and ashamed but I now weigh 182 pounds, equals to 82.3 Kg. I have no idea what happened but here I am, I have gotten America fat. I have to fit into a stupid wedding dress in 4 months!!!! Ahhhhhhh!!!!
So, what do I need to do? Well, I have to eat smaller portions, start moving my body again and get into a routin, and stay away from sweets.
I have a great inspiration in my friend Jordan who lost 25 pounds over break and she is looking and feeling great. She will be my support.

We had the most wonderful time at home. We did a lot of eating and realxing. I did not get to see everybody that i was hoping to see since i forgot my phonebook and my parents computer was broken. But it was very nice to just relax and not stress at all.
We also had the funeral of my mormor. It was very difficult but we make ot through with the thought that now morfar have somebody to dring coffee with. He has been doing that by himself for many years now. He will probaly drive my mormor crazy too but that is just the way it is :).
We are back at work again. I passed all my classes and will strt clinicals this spring, I am very excited. The only problem is the cost of the whole thing. I just bought my books yesterday and it came to $ 550 and that is not including the 10 books that they recommend that we buy!!! How in the world are you suppose to know what that means?? Do I need them or not??

Sad news

My mormor died on December 13th. I am very sad about this and it will be very strange to come home without her there. This has been a pretty bad year, between my cousins son's death, my parents surgery, my cousin-in-laws cancer treatment, and my mother-in-laws back problems. It started out great with Mike and me getting married but it went down hill from there. We have made great progress without house and I was excited to have my parents here in August.
Right now I just want my finals to be over and I want to go home to Sweden and celebrate christmas...

I cannot believe that it is December 2nd! The time has flown this fall. I am very close to my finals and i am very stressed. I will be able to start my nursing classes in the spring as long as I pass my classes this fall. I am having a hard time with statistics and chemistry but I hope that i will be OK.
I am working at the hospital today and nobody is giving birth. It is a very long day and i cannot wait for it to end. I don't like to do nothing. I have promised to babysit tonight. Once again I had a hard time saying no and I get stuck doing way more than I have time for. But they have a new baby and I could not say no.... I have to learn.
I will give up my grea job at the plastic surgeon. I will not be able to do it next semester and i need the experience at the hospital. I have leaving but I have too. I will work the few weeks after we get back from Sweden but when school starts again on the 29th I will leave....
I am a little worried both mormor and farmor is in the hospital right now. Mormor is having knee replacement and farmor had to go in by ambulance on Tuesday. i hope that they are OK. i have to call my mom tomorrow morning before I go to work.
We cannot wait to go home for Christmas. We are soo excited. I need a vacation very bad and i need some time at home with friends and family. Elin is comming with little Lisa. I will finally get to meet her new baby and i am VERY excited about that.
Well, i cannot promise but I will try to write a little more often.

October rain

Well, the summer is over and the lovely fall is here. The Women's show went well and we were all beat when the weekend was over. Not as many people as we had expected but still very busy. I got some more BOTOX and some Restylane done so I was happy. I have nice pouty lips now and I love it. I do whatever I can to prevent those wrinkles to sneak up on me. I think I might do a little more in my lips, not a lot, only a little. I am so spoiled. I love my job that is for sure. I love the people I work with, and I love the atmosphere. I am not very good at marketing but I am good at everything else I do.

I start my new job on Friday. I will be the unitcoordinator for the mother/baby floor. I am doing training on Friday and Saturday and the following Monday and Tuesday evening. Then we'll see what my scheule will be. I will let

My friend Therese is comming to NY for 3 weeks and I hope that i get to see her. I guess she will not make it up to see me so I will see if I can make it down to the big apple. It all depends on my work schedule.

I have not been able to find any motivation to study yet. I have to find it soon since the semester is half over and I need to pick up my pace. I am meeting with my advisor on Friday to see what is going on for the Spring, if I can start my nursing classes or not. I need to know.

Half the week is done, thank god... I had my birthday Sunday and it was a great day. The sun was shining and we went applepickin. Now I am stuck with a big bag of apples and no time to do applepies. Hopefully I get to the store to pick up what is needed before they go bad. After apple picking we had a cookout at the house. My inlaws and us that was it, small and nice. I got a whole bunch of nice presents. I got a perfume that I had hinted to Mike that I REALLY liked (Princess by Vera Wang), I got a very nice Coach bag from my mother-in-law, I got a bunch of gift-certificates that will be used very soon I promise, I got a cool cast iron pot that I cannot wait to try out, and then I got undies and nighties. I got my b-day presents from my family at home a few weeks ago and I got 2 CD's, a mini digital recorder for my classes, and Elvisp :).

School is going OK. I have to pick up in my nutrition class but it is hard since our teacher sucks... she is the most boooring thing ever. We sit there and watch power point slides for 3 hours at a time. I signed up for tutoring in math. I am going there for the first time today, will be interesting to see how that goes. But I really need help, i am very bad at math. I wish Elin was here she is very good at numbers and she usualy have the patience to teach me. She is not here she is in Germany, sigh... but I got a few nice pictures of her and her little Lisa on Monday. It made me very happy. The cutest little girl ever, I might be able to meet her for her 5th birthday or something like that the way things are going.

This weekend I will be working in Boston all weekend (except for Sunday when we are having afternoon tea at the Ritz in Boston). The plastic surgeon has a booth at the women's show and I will be there on Friday and Saturday. I am looking forward to it but I know that I will be beat on Sunday. I will let you all know how it went next week.

I got my Green Card and I am very happy. It all went very well and the guy who interviewed us was great, he was personable, and funny. The whole ordeal took about 1 houre and he did not eve look at the pictures I had compiled. Afterwards we went out to celebrate with ma and pa who were here visiting.
We have ordered our tickets to Sweden for Christmas. We are leaving Bosont on the 22nd and we are leaving Sweden on the 8th to go back home again. I cannot wait!!! I have not been home for about a year and a half and I can feel it. I am very excited to be able to share Christmas at home with Mike. We have so many traditions and the food is amazing. My mom loves to decorate for Christmas so there are christmas stuff everywhere. She has the American christmas tree upstairs with all the different crazy ornaments that she has bought here, and then she has the traditional Swedish christmas tree with red glass balls and tinsel (I think it is called) downstairs, and in between there are tomtar everywhere.. I love it....!!!!

So, i am about to finish my secon week os school. I am tired and I canot wait to sleep in tomorrow and to be able to spend some time with my man. We are on such different schedules right now that we don't see each other until Saturday morning. It sucks but what to do? School is ok. Statistics is that class that I am nost worried about. I have a hard time with numbers and I cannot think mathematically. But I guess that I just have to put some extra time and effort into it and I should do OK. My nutrition class sucks. My teacher is very boring and I wish that I did not have to take it, but I do. Chemistry is a new experience. It is a big lecture hall with about 100 students. I have never taken such a big class before but it is good so far. Our teacher keeps telling us that the first few classes are easy but it will get worse.

Sunday is my birthday. I have been sooo busy this fall that I have not really had time to remide people about it :). I hope that they remember anyway. I am planning to go apple picking and it is supposed to be a beautiful day.

I got a new job. I will be a unit coordinator on the maternity floor at Newton-Wellesley Hospital. I am excited and I hope that I will like it. I am starting on the 13th of October with training. I will keep you updated.

End of the Summer

Wednesday, and my parents will be here in 3 hours. Am I excited??? Maybe a little :). I CANNOT WAIT!!!!! We are having a cookout on Sunday and it looks like it will rain. Left overs from tropical depression Ernesto. We have the patio done, and patio furniture all set up. All I have to do is to clean the grill. So, I hope that it will not rain too bad on Sunday.

School is starting next week and I am a little nervous but it is always nice to start. Ask me again in November and I promise that I will be sick and tired of it. But this time is feels like it is different since I have a goal and I should be done with a degree in nursing in about 3 years. That part I am very excited about. I cannot wait to start working in a hospital, helping people. Very exciting.

Rainy Friday

Grey, gloomy Friday. But it is Friday and that is all that matters. My parents are are comming next Wednesday and I am very excited. Other than that nothing much is going on. I have been working a lot the last week, Mike is on vacation in Vegas and Los Angeles. Sounds like he is having a great time and he deserves it. But I cannot wait to see him tomorrow.
This weekend I will try to get the house ready for my parents visit. I have some mulch being delivered today (hopefully) and I also have to clean. The house have not been properly cleaned all summer. It is so hard to keep up with it when the windows are open. It gets very dusty.

We have our mock intervju with the atty next week and that will be interesting. Should go well, as long as we have everything we need.

Looking forward to talk to Elin on Saturday. We have been playing phonetag for about a month now. Cannot wait to hear what her little baby is up to. My friend Ulrika has gotten married this month and i am happy for her. Have to send her a gift. I will get around to it, I promise.

Weekend

Friday, always a rough day. I cannot wait for the day to end so that I can go home and do nothing all night. I love Friday nights. I just sit on the couch and do nothing and really enjoy it. Sometimes we have pizza night over at my in-laws. But since I have to loose some weight the pizza is out for a while.
I went to school yesterday and got lost. I am not used to a big school and I feel very little. But I got what I needed to do done (except for what I forgot).
I have the best husband in the world. He is the sweetest and most loving man I have ever met. I love him to death! He was telling me yesterday how lucky he was to have suck a wonderful wife that he could share the little things in life with. I takes me by surprise everytime he says something like that. I love hearing that he appreciates me and loves me, even though I can be a big grouch (ha, ha). He always seem to say sweet things when I least expect it. I am defenately one of the luckiest women in the world. Somewhere I must have done something right to deserve a man like mine.

Fall is approaching

Hi all.
I am sorry that I have been out of touch recently. The summer has been very busy and I don't have the internet at home. But it should all change since i will be starting school again in about 1 month. I went to register last Monday and that was a nightmare. One advisor and 15 students to register. It took forever and since it is very late many of the classes were already full. I got the classes i needed by my schedule sucks. I have to go to school every day. Twize a week for only 1.5 h. in the morning. It realy messes up my work schedule but i will have to work on it and get a few hours in of work each week. I need some money to contribute to our household.

This week i will be off on Tuesday and Thursday since my "kids" are on vacation in Scottland. I will try to get some things taken care of that i have put off for way too long. Suck as changing my drivers licence. Mom and dad is comming to visit the first week pf September and i am very excited. I cannot wait to see them again. We also finally got our green card interview. We are going on September 6th at 9am. I am a little nervous but it should all go smooth, i hope.

I hope everybody had a great summer solstice yesterday. the weather here was beautiful and naturally i had to work all day. work is going well and i am learning a lot of new things. i am also enjoying my "kidsitting" or maybe i should call myself a companion since the girls are getting too old to have a babysitter. today i will bring them down to Weymouth to see my house and to meet my hubby.

Other than that.. we have a busy weekend infront of us and i love it. we are going to a high school graduation party on saturday for Mikes niece, sunday my friend Destiny is getting married and then on monday we are going to a concert with Faith Hill and Tim McGraw (very exciting). I also have to take my math assessment test on monday at UMass Boston. i am way behind on registrating and i just hope that i will get the classes that i need.

On friday it will be a year until our "wedding" in Sweden. My mom booked the church last week so that we will be the first ones and so that we can pick the time we want. I am looking forward to it. It will be so very nice to have friends and family together for once. i know that my mom will do a great job planning the whole thing. I will look at dresses when i go to sweden this winter. hopefully i will find something there so that i don't have to drag one from here. but we'll see.

that is all that i have for right now. the sun have been shining for about a week now but rain is in the forecast for this weekend. we'll see......

Summer is here

Rain, rain, rain, and more rain..... and then 90 degrees.... moderation what is that? if it is not too wet and cold it is tooo warm and sticky. Why can people never be happy? Well i work in air condition and that is not bad when it is hot and sticky outside.

Work is going well. The kids are out of school so tomorro i start the long days in Natick. i don't mind at all. The girls are great and we usualy have a lot of fun.

I am so bummed out that i cannot go home this summer. I will go home for Christmas and that will be very nice.

Bad news

well, finally the sun is shining. but it will rain again tomorrow so don't worry. i have been taking a math class these past 2 weeks (pre-calc) and i decided yesterday to drop it. i am not a math person and a whole semester i 5 weeks is just too intense for me and i am not going to ruing my GPA becuase of a stupid class that i don't really need. i just decided to take is because i have not taken math in so long. i really enjoy it, don't get me wrong. but i cannot get 100 different things per class. i am still going to go since i cannot get my money back but i will not have the pressure of performing well, it will just be for my benefit.

i might not be able to go to sweden this summer. i am devestated. i have been looking forward to going home for 2 weeks in July since christmas time. the reason in INS. i have not gotten my green card interview and with my history of always beeing screwed with things that i need i don't dare to go home before i get it. I was looking forward to see my best friend Elin and her new baby Lisa. i have not seen Elin in about 3 years and it is about time. but something always seem to go wrong, sigh. i mean, it might still work out and i might have the date in the mailbox when i go home today, i don't know. i hope something happens soon. Mike and i taked about it last night and if things don't work out we wil go home for Christmas and New Years. i would love to have a Christmas at home so that would not be all that bad, only that i would have to wait for another 6 months to go home.

anyway that is all for right now. My cousing Annika is gettin married to her kennet this weekend and i wish i could be there for that too, but i think they can make it without us. i wish them all the best.

Sorry. i have been out of comission for a while. I am finally done with school for the spring. Now, i have done something stupid and that is to sign up for a pre-calc class that starts in about 2 weeks. Well my reasoning is this.... that is i pass pre-calculus i dont have to take the math assessment at UMass. if i take the math assessment at Umass they will place me in kindergarten math and i don't have time for that... so that is why i am taking this stupid math class for 4 weeks between 6-10pm on mondays and wednesdays.
I will write more next week when i have access to a computer...

IKEA

IKEA!!! what more do i have to say.. i love this place.. we finally have one only 30 minutes from the house. but it is the same story everythime we go. I want to buy everything there cause it is soooo cheap.. If i don't get cranky then Mike gets annoyed. We pay at the register and then end up paying twise as much at the food store. the other day i stood there with 2 Kalles Kaviar and realized that i only needed one since they are about $5 a piece and i can go back and get another one when i run out. I get too excited and buy things that i would normally not buy. But it is swedish and i need it at that moment. We actually saw some really nice outside furniture when we were there last week but we have to finish the outside forst so we have somewhere to put furniture.
The onther week we bought a lot of flower seed and even strawberry, rasberry, blackberry bushes. now all we need is some nice spring weather. Well this week sould do it. on friday they are predicting 65 degrees F. that is what??? about 15-18 degrees C. not bad for end of March...

I just got my admission letter to UMass Boston. It looks as if I will start in the fall and hopefully i will be able to start taking my nursing classes after Christmas, I guess it all depends on what transfers, but most of my classes should transfer without any problem. I am very excited!!! I just hope it dosen't turn into the fiasko I had last year.

March madness

Sorry, it's been a while, but things have been very busy. i am working and loving it. I am starting to get into what i am doing and it is getting easier and i am getting more and more to do. other than that?? Mike has been sick again. he was tired, and had sinuspressure and could not do anything without taking a nap afterwards. he finally got some antibiotic from the doctor and i hope that he is feeling better today. I left him in bed this morning and he is terrible and never answers his cell phone so I have no idea what he is up to today.

The whole dancing thing is going down the drain. We did not go this week since Mike was sick but it is not that much fun anymore since his is so pissy about it. We have 2 more times and he is just going to have to suck it up.

I talked to my bestest friend Elin on Sunday. She is very pregnant and i am very excited. She is due on the 6th of April and that is very soon and i cannot wait to see her this summer. We have not see each other in about 4 years i think. But it does not matter. Wen we talke on the phone it feels like yesterday. we have both gotten married without the other one approving of the future husband. that was a rough one. Well, one of these days i am sure that we will all get together husbands, and children, and all.

My other friend Ulrika is doing very well. She had twins almost 4 years ago now (well 3.5). they are the cutest little things and i wish that i could see them more often that i do. they grow up to fast when you only see them once a year.

Friday is St. Pattys day and i might go out for a nice green beer. i think i need a recreational drink. My sister-in-law took the day off to go out so i might meet up with her and my mother- in-law after work for a drink or two. if they have not given up by then :).

Well, i have to go to class. Psychology tonight. i might leave after the quiz, i don't feel like staying put but we'll see.

End of the month

today is the last day of February. Cannot believe how time flies. my dad had surgery today and i hope everything went well. will call him tomorrow.
it is cold outside. this winter we have gotten so spoiled and now when it is cold it is plain terrible. but it is winter afte all so it is just to deal with it.
what else is going on?? nothing much. except that my hubby and me had a disagreement yesterday. we are taking dancing lessons and he is not very good at dancing and he gets very frustrated and angry. i told him that i would not go back if he did not shape up and relaxed and at lest try to enjoy it. he was being a big baby. but i think he go over it.
Other than that. i am working and i am a little frustrated. i cannot learn as quickly as i used to and i keep getting these project on my desk that takes a long time to do and i cannot seem to get anything done.. but i guess it is all in taking it easy and learn. i like it and every day there i keep thinking about what procedure i could have done - lipo, microderm, botox... well, one never know. i am open to surgically enhancing myself :).
tomorrow is my last day with the twins and i will miss our lazy wednesdays but it is time to move on and i can still do babysitting on weekends.

another wek is done and thank god for that. i am behindin school work and i had 2 tests this week and i need to shape up. i got a letter from my school saying that i am on the waiting list for the nursing program this fall (together with numerus other people). i also sent out 2 other applications to nursing programs for the fall but i do not hope that it will go any better. it is sooo very frustrating when i finally figured out what to do with my life but i cannot get into school to get started.... it sucks... i am very upset about the whole thing... but there is nothing i can do, unfortenately..

what else is going on?? my friend Maggie has her birthday on Sunday as does my "sister-in-law" in Sweden Johanna. Happy birthday to both of you... i will hopefully see Maggie on sunday for dinner..

my new job is going great. i love it but naturally i am very overwhelmed, but that should go away soon enough. next week is the last week i will be doing babysitting for my twins afther that i will work mon, wed, thur at my new job. i look forward to getting some order into my life. (and a steady paycheck).

on 3/9 i am going into Boston to get my fingerprints taken for my green card application. i am happy that it didn't take them longet to get me an appointment. i hope that i have the greencard before i go home to sweden in July.

well, i am back..
had my first day at the job on monday and it was interesting. i hate the feeling of a first day on the job cause you are so overwhelmed and everything is spinning by the end of the day. besides the fact of being overwhelmed i think i will like it. i look forward to getting something more structured to do and not running around doing all the things that nobody else want to do...

we had a snow storm on sunday and it was great. i was in my PJ's all day and didn't have to go out or do anything. my hubby gets cabin fever and cannot sit still and enjoy it and when i tell him about all the things that he could do (cleaning, dusting etc.) he suddenly getts very busy with the TV. it stopped snowing around 6 and we dug ourselves out and went to get a movie and pizza. we got about 1,5 dm. that is all but it was very windy.... a very nice day...

Happy Valentines day everybody. today would have been my morfars (grandfathers) birthday. he would have been 80 something if he had not been dead for 17 years already. i miss him still.. grattis morfar... my man surprised me yesterday with tulips, a sweet card, and a present. the present was a towel that i can use for the gym. he is sooo sweet... i had not gotten him anything. i am a bad wife i guess... NOT!!!!

finally my last day of classes and it feel good. i need a weekend to catch up. my dear friend Krys Donati became a grandmother for the first time a couple of days ago and to two little bundle of joys. Congratulations!!!

other than that?? my hubby is working the night shift so i don't see him that much right now but that is only for a few weeks. my sister in law has her b-day tomorrow and that should be fun.

Just had my first A&P test and i don't know... i have a 50/50 chance to do good. i hate his tests. he gives us the questions and he lets us have notes but still.. people does not do good. he is evil..

i have my job interview today and i hope that it will go well. i need some money and i am kind of sick and tired of babysitting. i will let you know.

yesterday we had our third dance lesson. my hubby has a tendency to get very frustrated if he cannot do something right away and that makes me frustrated. but we are trying and we have to practice listening to music since the love o my life does not have any rythm. but he is doing great and it is a lot of fun.

other than that.... we have turned into gymrats. we go almost every day and we love it. i want to see results a lot faster that i am and that is making me a little frustrated but i should not be in any hurry just enjoy it. the down side is that i get sooo tired. i am taking naps almost every day and that takes away from my studying time!! but what ever. it will all work out.

my sister-in-law has her b-day this friday and we need to celebrate her. she needs a new man! anybody know of anybody that is available?? he need to have patience and be active. let me know..

hi again, have some time before i am agoing to my lab classes. i happened to schedule for two labs in a row. starting out at 6pm with A&PII and then at 8pm i go next door for michrobiology.

i have a job interview on tuesday. it is for a plastic surgeon that i have done some babysitting for. the job is in her practice. a little bit of everything and i really hope that i get it. i need to start working again. this babysitting business is not going well right now. it seems as if all my children have grown up and they dont need me anymore (pout).

talked to mom on tuesday and it seems like she is doing good. she took her stiches out today and she should be back to normal in a few weeks. she went to the unemployment agency for the fort time in her life on Tuesday and she was all excited about it when i talked to her. she will be doing some courses and learn the computer. maybe they will get a new one and i might actually be able to e-mail them again. one never knows.

went to lunch with my wonderul hubby and his mom today. before that we went to the gym and walked on the treadmill for about 60 min. it feels sooooo good to be back to working out again, makes a great difference.

Hi everybody, today is January 30th and i have my own blog!!! how exciting is that??? i figured that maybe this would be an easier way to keep in contact with everybody, but i don't know. I wanted to try something new and since everybody is blogging now why not try it.

News in my life are scarce... I got married on Jan 1, which is exciting i must say. although it does not feel very different. the only thing is that i love to see the ring on my mans left hand. he is mine! Other than that.....??? Nothing much..

I started school again this past week and it will be another busy semester. i am taking microbiology (w.lab), a&p II (w. lab), and growth and development. CSN also decided that i should not get any grants this semester since i am "only" taking 11 credits and that sucks. Considering that they want me to pay back $2000, with no income, no job, and studying full time! they are insane!!! and it is not happening... we'll i will have my wonderful mother give them a call and tell them that this is not happening. i don't have the money to pay them right now and that is that.

i need a job and i have one that i hope that i am getting. a doctor that i am babysitting for once in a blue moon has her own practice and i asked her before Christmas if she might have some kind of an office job for me and it seems like she does. i am waiting for her office manager to get back to me about an interview time. i hope this goes through. 2 days a week would make a world of difference in my bank account right now. i hate being dependent on my lovely hubby, that is not me. i want my own money!
